Former USA gymnastics doctor, Larry Nassar, was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison last week, for mass sexual assault, including Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas.

Olympic champion Biles appeared on the TODAY show to share her thoughts on Nassar and his sentencing. Bile revealed earlier this year that she had suffered sexual abuse at Nassar's hands while on the Olympic gymnastics team.

"I think it's very hard for someone to go through what I've gone through recently, and it's very hard to talk about," Biles said. "But other than that, I think the judge is my hero, just because she gave it to him straight and didn't let him get any power over any of the girls. And letting the girls speak was very powerful."

Naturally, Biles wanted Nassar to receive a just punishment. 

"I was very happy. I wish she would've just given him a crazy number, like 3,000 years or something, but other than that, she was a boss and she was absolutely amazing," the gymnast commended the presiding Judge, Rosemarie Aquilina.

During the interview, host Hoda Kotb, deftly touched on the pressures of being a world champion while secretly dealing with the trauma of Nassar's abuse. 

"I think we're very good at compartmentalizing things, and so we just kind of push it in the back of our heads because we don't want anyone to think of that, or we don't want ourselves to think of that," noted Biles. "Once we go out there, we go out there with a full heart and compete, because that's what we love to do."
