WNBA player Skylar Diggins isn’t only making moves on the court! Soon, she will join the ranks of athletes featured in Sean Jensen’s Middle School Rules book series. Diggins is the first black female athlete to join the series.

The author of the series, Sean Jensen, created the books to help young, aspiring professional athletes survive the challenges of growing up and sometimes not being “good enough.” The Middle School Rules website reads, “before they could thrive, they had to survive,” nodding at the fact that success doesn’t come easily. This is also echoed in the slogan,”Real life. Real lessons. Real inspiration.” With Skylar Diggins’ installment, she hopes to help young students cope with bullying.

Diggins announced the collaboration via Twitter.

According to the description on Amazon, “young readers will learn how Skylar dealt with bullying, struggled to fit in at school, and figured out how to excel in basketball despite never being the tallest, strongest or fastest player.”

Twitter is already swelling with praises of Diggins’ book.

The Middle School Rules of Skylar Diggins is currently available for pre-order and will officially be released on Friday, July 1st. It can be purchased on Amazon.
