We’ve gotten to know each other a bit over the past month, so let’s dive a bit deeper into the belly of the beast that is hip-hop music. Brooklyn emcee Skyzoo and Detroit producer Apollo Brown just released their first joint project, The Easy Truth, courtesy of label Mello Music Group. To celebrate the new release, the duo put out a music video for the track “A Couple Dollars,” which features Slaughterhouse emcee, Joell Ortiz.
Skyzoo and Apollo Brown have collaborated on a couple tracks before, but to have these two heavyweights team up for a full LP has been a long time coming. Apollo Brown’s head-knocking production coupled with Skyzoo’s personal stories and lyrical ability made The Easy Truth one of my most anticipated releases of 2016.
