Cori Broadus documented her baby girl’s journey on social media

Broadus shared a photo of Codi on social media three weeks ago when she came home from the hospital.

“She’s home,” Broadus wrote on her Instagram post at that time. “Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all.”

When she gave birth at 25 weeks in Feb. 2025, Broadus told her followers that “the princess arrived at 6 months.”

“I’ve cried and cried, I’ve compared and compared, blaming myself because I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed,” she wrote on Instagram at that time. “But no matter what God always shows me that He got me!”

As the family continued to update the public about the child’s condition, they shared a video of Codi with her mother in September, in honor of NICU Awareness Month.

“Becoming a NICU mom was not part of the plan, but it became part of my story,” Broadus wrote on Instagram. “I carry my little warrior’s strength with me every day.”

What did doctors tell Cori Broadus after she gave birth?

According to People, Broadus revealed on social media that she delivered her child via C-Section after doctors diagnosed her with HELLP syndrome. The life-threatening pregnancy complication usually happens in the late stages of pregnancy or shortly after childbirth, according to the Preeclampsia Foundation.

“I’m a high-risk pregnancy, and doctors were very concerned for me and the baby, but God has his hands on me,” Broadus wrote on social media after announcing her pregnancy in Dec. 2024, People reported.
