Albert Joseph Brown IV, the eldest son of R&B crooner Al B. Sure!, just confirmed that his father was in a coma for two months, Atlanta Black Star reports. According to the 36-year-old, the 54-year-old has woken up and is on the road to recovery.

Brown shared the update on his father’s health while thanking fans for wishing him a happy birthday on Oct. 30.

“Thank your every 1 for the bday wishes!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾 been kinda out of it and in my own world!! @officialalbsure POPS BEEN hospitalized FOR 2 months and he just made it out!! So I’m much better and ready to get back on my shit! It’s time to get the fuck up pop!! We got Shit to do!!!!” he wrote on Instagram.

Brown continued, thanking followers “for all the concerns and worries about my family!” The 36-year-old added that this year, he’s dedicated his birthday to his dad.

“Today is my day but this is for my pops! All I want for him is to get out that f**king hospital!! We need u big homie!!  I love all of y’all! And appreciate all of u! And every 1 I touched and shared energy with around the world on my krazy journey! This for y’all!!” he said.

He concluded by showing some love to his family.

“And to my family I love y’all so much! Thanks for motivating me and making me feel loved always! And mom u are the greatest mom ever!!! And imma make u proud everyday!” he wrote.

The “U Will Know” singer commented on his son’s sweet post, sharing how Brown has influenced his recovery.

“#HappyBornDay son. To my oldest King! Always consider it the ultimate blessing to experience another ‘Period of Revolution!’ Another trip around the [sun]!” he wrote. “When I recently opened my eyes during my hospitalization you sent such positive shockwaves throughout my temple when I heard the new music you produced that you sent to my nurses to play for me called The One 4 Me.”

The 54-year-old shouted out his son’s musical prowess, saying he and his “team” are “fire” musically.

“I’m so very proud of you beyond comprehension,” he wrote. “Stay focused, faithful and fully accountable to Allah. Remember, Mommy & I are always watching so keep it authentic and somewhat G rated with your vehicle of expression.”

The father of three has had his fair share of health scares in the past. He’s been candid about his health, sharing several pictures of his time in the hospital and opening up about experiencing a gallbladder issue, blockage, toxic internal problems and weight concerns, Black News reports.
