In anticipation of the film's May 1 broadcast premiere on PBS, New Yorkers will have a chance to see the new feature length documentary Jesse Owens at a special screening tomorrow, Tuesday, as the Black Documentary Collective partners with Stranger Than Fiction to show the film at IFC, April 17th, at 8 PM.
A Q&A with director Laurens Grant will follow the screening at IFC, which is located at 323 Sixth Ave. @ 3rd Street in NYC.
Produced, directed and written by Laurens Grant and Stanley Nelson, the team behind the Emmy-Award-winning documentary Freedom Riders, their new film tells the story of the most famous athlete of his time, whose stunning triumph at the 1936 Olympic Games captivated the world.
The film will premiere on the PBS series American Experience on Tuesday, May 1 at 8PM EST.
