We already posted that Spike Lee's Bad 25 – his new documentary about the making and lasting impact of Michael Jackson's Bad album, which first was released 25 years ago this month – would make its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

In fact, the film will be screened at the festival on August 31st, the day of the album's release 25 years ago.

And now it has been officially announced that, after Venice, the film will be screened in September at the Toronto International Film Festival as part of the Special Presentations screenings at TIFF.

As for the future plans for the documenatry, Spike said recently that negotiations are currently taking place for an eventual TV broadcast for the film. Though he did not reveal with who, it's most likely that HBO would be the obvious venue for the film, considering Spike's past relationship with the cable network, especially after his two Katrina documentaries.

After that, Spike said that other future plans are for the film to be available on DVD by the end of the year, during the holidays.
