After the acquittal of former Officer Jason Stockley in the shooting death of Anthony Lamar Smith, the city of St. Louis was rocked by a string of protests last weekend. Since the demonstrations, where reportedly more than 80 people were arrested, video has emerged of an unmarked police car driving backwards through a crowd of protesters.

According to CBS St. Louis affiliate KMOV-TV, police reported that around 7 p.m. on Sunday, after officers had made two arrests, a third suspect began throwing rocks at them. That suspect was taken into custody and detained in the back of the unmarked police car. Police reported that the crowd started moving toward the car in a “threatening manner” and because of road closures, they couldn’t drive forward. So, the officer driving the vehicle backed down the street to safety.

Fortunately there were no reported injuries.
