Ready for some down-home gospel!?
The brand new documentary Stay Prayed Up, which had its run at the Telluride Film Festival is now in theaters.
The documentary follows Lena Mae “Mother” Perry who “has no greater devotion than lifting spirits with the down-home gospel group, The Branchettes, that she has led for nearly five decades.”
Directed by D.L. Anderson and Matt Durning, the inspiring film “documents The Branchettes as they record their first, fully live album. Through shared prayer, laughter, hardship and praise, this “church gospel noisy crew” demonstrates that music, like faith, ain’t nothing without some fire inside.”
Stay Prayed Up opens in theaters Friday and will be available via select digital platformrs on July 5.
