Four-time NBA champion and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is now a college graduate.
The 34-year-old father of three walked the stage at Davidson College to collect his bachelor’s degree on Wednesday.
According to the New York Post, Curry attended the school between 2006 to 2009, left to pursue a career in basketball and returned for one semester to complete his undergraduate degree requirements.
Curry was initially scheduled to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology in May but couldn’t attend due to the ongoing NBA playoffs.

The ceremony was made extra-momentous as the college also honored Curry’s athletic achievements by retiring his No. 30 jersey during the one-man ceremony.
According to WBTV, Curry is the first player to have their jersey retired at Davidson College.
The ceremony was attended by thousands of students, fans and Curry’s closest family members.

According to ESPN, Curry remarked that it was an “amazing day” and an “amazing moment” for himself and his family.
“Finishing my degree was a promise I wanted to make. Didn’t think it would take 13 years, but we’re here and it matters to see that through.”

“The best decision I ever made was to come to Davidson College and pursue an education, join an amazing community and, most importantly, play for an amazing man who has built this program in Coach [Bob] McKillop,” Curry said.
“To earn this degree you showed determination and perseverance,” Davidson president Doug Hicks said in his speech during the ceremony. “It would have been so easy, so straightforward to not complete your college degree. Yet in response to that idea, you did what you did to 29 other NBA organizations, you said, ‘night, night.’”
Curry earning his degree, also fulfilled a promise that he made to his mother before deciding to enter the 2009 NBA draft.
