Known as one of the NBA’s greatest 3-point shooters, Golden State Warrior player Stephen Curry graduated from Davidson College with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Sociology on Sunday.

Curry kept his head in the game and the books because the 34-year-old completed his final semester under the radar. The point guard shared his latest accolade on Instagram, captioning a slideshow of photos as a dream come true.

“Dream Come True!! Class of 2010….aka 2022, but we got it done! Thanks to my whole village that helped me get across the finish line. Made the promise when I left and had to see it through. Official @davidsoncollege alum 🙌🏽 Momma, we made it! #greatdaytobeawildcat,” Curry wrote.

According to Axios Charlotte, Curry kept his promise to his college coach, Bob McKillop and his family by graduating college. In 2009, Curry left college early for the NBA draft.

Davidson College fans have long vouched to have Curry’s No. 30 college jersey retired, but coach McKillop has said during numerous interviews that only players who graduate would receive that honor—terms Curry accepted wholeheartedly.

“I knew what I signed up for when I went to Davidson,” Curry told ESPN in 2015.

Davidson College took a moment to celebrate Curry by posting a picture of him on Instagram paired with a reflecting caption on his time at the school back in 09′ as a basketball player.

“Stephen Curry has on many occasions emphasized the importance of education, how much he valued his Davidson College experience and that he is committed to earning his degree. He needed to complete one semester of classwork. He re-enrolled at Davidson College for the spring semester and worked with: two members of the Davidson faculty, a Stanford University professor and a UC Santa Cruz professor who taught Stephen when both were at Davidson,” Davidson College captioned on Instagram.

“He will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Sociology, with the class of 2022 on Sunday but will not attend commencement. Davidson College looks forward to an opportunity on campus in the future when we can present his diploma,” the caption continued.

Curry couldn’t attend the Wildcat commencement due to him leading the Warriors to their fourth NBA finals, but his mother, Sonya, was in attendance and shared a video showing the moment his name was called on stage.
