Lori Harvey may be nursing a broken heart following her breakup with Michael B. Jordan, but her father, Steve Harvey, has her back, Complex reports. The TV personality, who’s been vocal in the past about liking Jordan, shared his thoughts on their split and how he’s showing up for his daughter during this tough time.

Steve confirmed on Monday’s episode of The Steve Harvey Morning Show that Lori and Jordan went their separate ways, E! Online reports. He said he feels “fine” about the split and is focused on being there for Lori.

“I’m team Lori, 1,000%,” he said. “She’s my daughter. I love her, I support her.”

The 65-year-old explained that it’s difficult for Hollywood couples to go the distance and told viewers that, from his understanding, Lori and Jordan’s split was friendly.

“Look, as long as everybody can walk away in peace, be friends … I ain’t heard nobody say they busted no windows or nothing,” he said. “As long as you don’t put your hands on my daughter, I don’t give a damn what you do.”

Steve also said that even though Lori isn’t with Jordan, he’s still a good guy in his book.

“He’s still a cool guy … from what I know. It’s a breakup. I’m pretty sure they’ll be fine. People break up all the time,” he said.

The actor even poked fun at himself, referencing his multiple divorces, adding that he wished he could have broken up “without the cost factor.”

Neither Lori nor Jordan have publicly addressed the breakup, though the 25-year-old deleted pictures of them together from her Instagram. According to People, a source close to her hinted that the couple split because Lori “wasn’t ready to commit” and wanted to keep focusing on her career rather than settling down.

The source said the pair “realized that they weren’t on the same page” when discussing “plans for their future.”

The source also said that Lori “still wants to have fun and be free.” She still thinks Jordan is “a great guy” and is “sad that their relationship didn’t work out, but she is moving on.”

According to E! Online, Jordan was spotted courtside with rapper Cordae on Sunday for Game 2 of the 2022 NBA Finals in San Francisco after the breakup. An eyewitness said that Jordan “went right to his seat upon arrival” and “didn’t do much cheering” throughout the game.
