Indya Moore is best known for their acclaimed performance as Angel on the FX drama, Pose. Now, they are adding another role to their ever-growing resume.
On Sunday, Moore made their debut as a new character on the Cartoon Network show, Steven Universe: Future. The limited series is a follow-up to the wildly popular and groundbreaking animated series, Steven Universe.
As reported by Out, Moore plays the character of Shep, who is dating one of Steven’s friends, Sadie. Similar to Moore, the character of Shep is non-binary and is addressed by many of the characters with the pronouns “they” and “them.”
Created by Rebecca Sugar, Steven Universe revolves around a young boy who lives with magical, humanoid aliens in the fictional setting of Beach City.
2019 has been a banner year for Moore. Aside from Pose, they also starred alongside Daniel Kaluuya, Jodie Turner-Smith and Bokeem Woodbine in Queen & Slim. They will also star in the upcoming horror film, Escape Room 2.
