Zoë Kravitz, Keith Stanfield, Kimberly Elise, rap stars A$AP Rocky and Tyga all appear in the new feature film by Rick Famuyiwa ("The Wood," "Brown Sugar," "Our Family Wedding"), titled "Dope," which is described as a coming of age story about geeks growing up in Inglewood, California, trying to avoid gangs, drugs, and crime.  

Starring Shameik Moore, Tony Revolori and Kiersey Clemons, the film follows a trio of best friends who are also in their own hip hop – punk band. 

Significant Productions’ Forest Whitaker and Nina Yang Bongiovi ("Fruitvale Station") are producing the film, which will feature original music by Pharrell Williams.

The film will make its world premiere at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival this month. 

Famuyiwa, who made his mark with the 1999 dramedy, "The Wood" (although it wasn’t his first film), also helmed 2002’s "Brown Sugar," and co-wrote the screenplay for Kasi Lemmons’ "Talk To Me" in 2007.

As the festival does every year, Sundance has released a group of "Meet the Artist" interview video clips, featuring the various directors of the films that are set to screen there this year.
