Shadow and Act, the premier digital destination for Black entertainment, is back at Sundance for 2022.
After first debuting as an official partner in 2021, S&A is a media sponsor for our second year at festival alongside outlets such as Variety, The Atlantic, NPR and more.
This year’s digital slate of programming includes a series of panels and conversation taking place over the course of the festival’s first week.
Shadow and Act’s managing editor Trey Mangum is set to talk with the creative duo behind Sundance 2022 title Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul, which stars Regina Hall, Sterling K. Brown and Nicole Beharie, actress Bresha Webb is moderating a panel featuring Black women executives in the industry, and Blavity CEO and founder Morgan DeBaun is also sitting down conversation with actress/director Meagan Good.

Thursday, Jan. 20 – Conversation with ‘Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul’ writer/director Adamma Ebo and producer Adanne Ebo

In celebration of the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, Shadow And Act’s Managing Editor Trey Mangum will have the pleasure of sitting down with Adamma and Adanne Ebo, who are the writer/director and producer behind 2022 Sundance title Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul. This film’s faux documentary style and satirical fiction approach to megachurch and religious culture will have you enjoying every minute.
Friday, Jan. 21 – Powerful Women Shaping the Film Industry Panel, featuring ‘Run The World’ star Bresha Webb

Black women have often led movements throughout history and culture, without their much deserved recognition. Shadow And Act is here to give flowers to the powerful Black women shaping the film industry. Their contributions and leadership across project development, performance artistry, and even viral marketing strategies have been an indispensable part of bringing Black stories to life.
We’ll invite actress Bresha Webb, Director of Programming Mercedes Cooper, Development Executive Ada Chiaghana, and PR Maven Chardae Jenkins to discuss with us their process to success and the BTS efforts leading to the creation of our community’s favorite films.
Friday, Jan. 21 – Behind the Lens with ‘Harlem’ star Meagan Good

CEO of Blavity Inc, home to Shadow and Act, Morgan DeBaun, will be joined by actress and entertainment industry veteran Meagan Good for an intimate one-on-one discussion on career longevity, the recent success of her newest project Harlem, a short film she’s directing at Sundance from LOL Studios and her personal reflections on being a Black woman in the film and entertainment industry.
