As North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University (N.C. A&T) gears up for its Spring 2022 commencement ceremony, the HBCU has unveiled the keynote speaker for the event, Sunny Hostin.

The Greensboro-based institution announced the news in a press release.

“Originally from South Bronx, New York, Hostin developed a longstanding commitment to social justice at a young age,” N.C. A&T‘s statement reads.

“An inescapable presence from the top echelons of news and entertainment, Hostin continues to use her platform to advocate for and give a voice to the marginalized,” the announcement continues.

Currently, Hostin serves as a co-host on The View, and she’s also ABC News’ Senior Legal Correspondent and Analyst.

Additionally, she is an attorney, journalist, author, and host/executive producer of a true-crime series called Truth About Murder with Sunny Hostin.

Hostin has experience wearing many different professional hats, and her story is sure to inspire many upcoming N.C. A&T grads in all sorts of other areas of interest and expertise.

The news that Hostin will deliver the commencement speech comes as N.C. A&T founded way back in 1891, prepares for “another year of record graduates.”

Ahead of the Spring 2022 ceremony, 1,811 students have applied to graduate. This brings the school’s overall number of 2021-2022 graduates up to over 3,000 — signifying that the powerhouse HBCU continues to grow and go strong.

The event will take place in person early on May 14 at Greensboro Coliseum. There will be only one ceremony for both undergraduate and graduate students, and no tickets are required.

It’s worth pointing out that Hostin isn’t the only big-name celebrity who’s gearing up to deliver a graduation speech for an illustrious HBCU.

As Blavity previously reported, Taraji P. Henson is speaking at Howard University’s Spring 2022 commencement ceremony.

Additionally, back during the Fall 2021 graduation season, Joe Biden delivered the keynote address at South Carolina State University’s ceremony.
