This Year June 9 will mark the 5-year anniversary of SZA’s critically acclaimed sophomore album, Ctrl, and she’s commemorating the occasion with a meaningful gift to her fanbase.

SZA initially spoke on the subject earlier this week, simply tweeting, “Unreleased songs from 2017 to celebrate 5 .. me thinks.”

A few days later, she pulled thru and unveiled Ctrl (Deluxe), which contained an alt version of “Love Galore” and 6 other unreleased tracks: “2AM,” “Miles,” “Percolator,” “Tread Carefully,” “Awkward,” and “Jodie.”

Not only did SZA present fans with a revamped version of the hit album, but she went on to also hint that even more unreleased songs could soon find themselves uploaded to SoundCloud.

As of right now, the latest additions to SZA’s SoundCloud account include what was included on Ctrl (Deluxe). However, it’s safe to say that stans will be keeping their eyes peeled for more tracks.

As one can only imagine, this news regarding Ctrl (Deluxe) and more unreleased SZA tracks blew Twitter away.

Before the album dropped, however, people shared that they were on eggshells regarding whether the news was legit.

Others also mentioned how they “actually care” about Ctrl getting a deluxe version, signifying just how impactful the project was (and continues to be).

Another user memed the announcement by referencing the album’s iconic cover art.

Once Ctrl (Deluxe) dropped, people were quick to express their overwhelming excitement that SZA kept her promise.

In fact, many were expressing their undying love for SZA, Ctrl and the memories associated with the groundbreaking 2017 album.

June 6 was also informally declared “National SZA Day,” and people are now gearing up for “a SZA Summer.”

A few people also shared how they’d likely be reacting to the album: by crying at work.

Resultingly, it’s safe to say that SZA made the right choice by unveiling Ctrl (Deluxe).

What do you think about the project?
