Revisiting moments from a past relationship can be challenging for anyone, but imagine if your past relationship was with the rapper Drake. SZA possibly had some funny occurrences of deja vu when she was the musical guest on the Dec. 3 episode of Saturday Night Live.

The episode featured a skit with host Keke Palmer and other cast members launching the “United Tingz of Aubrey.” The “Tingz” sketch is a satire of a class-action lawsuit made by Drake’s exes, former flings and random women who have possibly inspired his music.

Although art ironically imitated her life, the 33-year-old singer found humor in the situation.

“In a strange way, I was like, ‘Did they know?'” said the singer during a check-in with Audacy.

She continued speaking on her relationship with the “Jimmy Cooks” rapper.

“But they didn’t ask me to be in it. Nobody said anything. … I feel like Drake has a Regina George quality to him where it’s just kind of like, ‘Have you or anyone you know been personally victimized?'”

SZA added, “He’s like a cool kid, you know. When you’re the popular kid in school, it’s entertaining. It’s entertaining, but you sometimes are taking losses in the midst of that entertainment. The honesty, I respect that. But I definitely laughed real hard. … I cackled.”

She also shared that she wanted everyone to know there were no hard feelings between the two.

“We’re cool. And we’ve always been cool,” she said. “He’s never said anything negative about me. I’m grateful for that. I think highly of him. … He’s King Drake.”

SZA confirmed her relationship with Drake after he spilled the tea on the song “Mr. Right Now,” a 2020 collaboration with 21 Savage.

He name-drops her on the track, rapping, “Yeah, said she wanna f**k to some SZA, wait/ ‘Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08.”

SZA quickly jumped on Twitter to confirm, correct and clarify the new reveal.

“So It was actually 2009 lol .. in this case, a year of poetic rap license mattered lol I think he jus innocently rhymed 08 w wait. Anybody who really knows me and was around during this time can confirm.. it’s all love, all peace,” the “Love Galore” singer explained.

She followed up by shutting down any chances of people thinking the worst about their past relationship.

“I just didn’t want anybody thinking anything underage or creepy was happening. Completely innocent. Lifetimes ago,” she wrote.

Although Drake was loose-lipped, SZA kept details about their past a secret on her new album, SOS.

SOS is the singer’s long-awaited sophomore set. Her Grammy-nominated debut project, CTRL, was released in 2017.
