T.I., 41, has enjoyed success in both the rap game and as an actor, yet Tip is venturing into stand-up comedy. Videos of the Atlanta native started circulating online of him doing his sets in January, according to Hot New Hip Hop.
On April 9, during the April Fools Comedy Jam held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, T.I. took the stage. However, video showed the audience booing the rapper who attempted to tickle their funny bone.
T.I. remained unbothered and embraced the moment. He told comedian Michael Blackson in an Instagram live that he enjoyed the set.
“I loved it! I didn’t feel like they were booing me like that. I felt like they were booing me like, ‘I dare you to be more funny, I dare you to be more funny, I dare you to be better,” he told Blackson.
T.I. reaffirmed that he is not concerned with his hypercritical fans, saying “I don’t give a damn.”
“I don’t care what they show. I ain’t seeking nobody’s validation. I’m not here for nobody else’s approval,” he said.
Rip Michaels, Nick Cannon, HaHa Davis, Eddie Griffin, B. Simone, Tony Roberts, Bruce Bruce, Joey Torry, Jacob Williams and Blackson also took the stage during the April Fools Comedy Jam, Complex reports.
