Rapper 21 Savage, aka Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, partnered with the non-profit Get Schooled to donate $1,000 to 21 kids in order to help teens open a bank account and begin learning financial literacy.

The donations will align with the Georgia musician's "21 Savage Bank Account Campaign," and Get Schooled’s goal of teaching teens about money management and budgeting, as well as increasing the number of children with savings accounts for low-income families. Involved teens will learn not only how to save money, but also techniques for making money, the difference between credit and debit cards, keys to avoiding bank fees and budgeting skills.

The "Issa Album" rapper announced his initiative on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday after a performance of his hit song “Bank Account.” The song’s success comes with a slight sense of irony though, especially because 21 Savage admitted to knowing very little about bank accounts and finances when he was younger.

"Now that I do have money in my bank account, I want to help kids with a background similar to mine to get smart about their money," 21 Savage told Rolling Stone.
