All American is bringing surprises of both the happy and serious kind in the upcoming episode, “Feels So Good.” The episode airs tonight, Jan. 23 at 9/8c on the CW.

The episode starts out with a surprise birthday party, but ends with a fight between one of the series’ couples. According to the official description:

When Laura (Monét Mazur) throws Billy (Taye Diggs) a surprise birthday party, everyone comes together to roast Billy, but Billy has a looming decision to hanging over his head. Spencer (Daniel Ezra) makes an effort to do what’s best for himself, hoping it helps Olivia (Samantha Logan) and him take a step towards moving on. Jaymee (Miya Horcher) offers some sage advice to Asher (Cody Christian) about JJ (Hunter Clowdus) and Asher’s speech but ignores her own concerning red flags. Meanwhile, Jordan (Michael Evans Behling) and Layla (Greta Onieogou) get in their first fight over something neither of them could have predicted.

The episode is directed by Ryan Zaragoza and written by Carrie Gutenberg. Watch the exclusive clip below.

All American is a sports drama based on the life of former NFL player Spencer Paysinger. The series has become a CW staple, and has had its sixth season greenlit as of this January.

Along with Ezra, Diggs, Mazur, Logan, Horcher, Christian, Clowdus, Behling and Onieogou, the series stars Bre-Z, Karimah Westbrook, Jayln Hall and Chelsea Tavares.
