Investigation Discovery will delve into a string of murders of 10 African-American women with Bad Henry, a two-hour documentary special on July 24 at 9/8c.

The special will look back on the horrible crimes committed in 1990s Charlotte, North Carolina, by Henry Louis Wallace, who raped and strangled black women seemingly with no connection aside from their race. It’ll also show how former Detective Garry McFadden, who at time time, was the only black member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s homicide squad, as his team doggedly tracked Wallace down until the finally captured him.

According to the network, the special will include never-before-heard interrogation footage of Wallace, “who calmly recounted the horrific murders of his victims,” including the reasons why and how he committed his crimes, including the chilling testimony that he would even visit the families of his victims and sometimes go to his victims’ funerals, offering words of support and condolences. The family members are also included in the special, recounting their horror and emotional strife, plus the relief they felt when Wallace was captured and justice was served.

Bad Henry is produced for Investigation Discovery by Blackfin, with Geno McDermott as executive producer and Greg Palmer as showrunner. Investigation Discovery’s Diana Sperrazza also acts as executive producer.
