Ryan Pfeffer deconstructs the genius that is DJ Khaled — starting at the very beginning when a young Khaled M. Khaled slept on the floor of his Miami radio station. Now a viral sensation, DJ Khaled is the essence of the American Dream.

3. “How the Gangs of New York Inspired Me to Dream” (via Blavity)

Blavity contributor Zuri Ward sat down to watch and review “Rubble Kings”, a documentary about street gangs in 1970s New York. What she didn’t expect was her visceral reaction to the connection between the mission of the Young Lords and Black Panthers to the Black Lives Matter movement of today.

4. “The Rise and Fall of Shaun King, Former Black Lives Matter Darling” (via NTRSCTN)

Once a key figure in the fight against police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement, Shaun King has been accused of stealing donations from victims, passing for Black and generally misleading the public. Feliks Garcia speaks to former King associates about what caused his fall from grace.

5. “Hillary Clinton Wants to Talk to You About Love and Kindness” (via Buzzfeed)

Hillary Clinton has been in the public eye since she gave an impassioned commencement address to her graduating class at Wellesley College. As First Lady, New York Senator, Secretary of State and now Democratic front runner, she has come under fire for her impenetrable persona. Ruby Cramer talks with Clinton and her staff about the unseen through line of love and kindness that has been her mission all along.
