It’s time to discuss what’s coming to and leaving Netflix during the month of May!

The month starts off with a hairspray-laced bang May 1 thanks to Robert Townsend’s 1997 cult classic B*A*P*S., starring Halle Berry and Natalie Desselle Reid.

Christel Gibson’s fertility drama Her Only Choice, starring Leon Robinson, Denise Boutte, Tamara Tunie, Vanessa Bell Calloway and Timon Kyle Durrett, and Netflix’s original, inspirational political documentary Knock Down the House, featuring Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Congressional candidate Cori Bush, also premiere May 1.

Netflix’s new animated sitcom Tuca & Bertie, starring the voices of Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong, drops May 3, and the first season of FX’s Pose comes to Netflix May 10.

The highly-anticipated release of Netflix’s See You Yesterday, a relevant sci-fi action film from Spike Lee’s protégé, Stefon Bristol, comes out May 17, and Barry Jenkins’ instant classic Moonlight, starring Trevante Rhodes, André Holland, Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harris and Janelle Monáe, makes its Netflix debut May 21. Also on May 21 is the debut of Wanda Sykes’ latest comedy special, Wanda Sykes: Not Normal, a Netflix original.

Horror-thriller, Netflix’s The Perfection, starring Allison Williams and Logan Browning, debuts May 24, as well as Netflix’s second season of Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It.

The month ends with Ava DuVernay’s explosive Netflix drama based on the Central Park Five case, When They See Us on May 31. The film stars Jovan Adepo, Kylie Bunbury, Michael K. Williams, Aunjanue Ellis, Jharrel Jerome, Niecy Nash, Adepero Oduye, Storm Reid, Aurora Perrineau and John Leguizamo.
