Here’s why:

The intro puts you in the mode of retro hip-hop with a ’70s vibe. I can just visualize the nightclub with the red light, smoke in the air, women in crop tops and bell bottoms and men in fedora hats everywhere while dancing to the music of Junie Morrison all night.
We haven’t heard an album from Kanye since 2012. He has definitely fueled our anticipation since dropping his last 3 singles, “Facts,” “Real Friends” and now “No More parties in L.A.” I must say, I’m eagerly awaiting the release of his album in February.
Kanye and Kendrick go bar for bar in the first 2 minutes of the track, similar to how he and Big Sean did on “All Your Fault,” which we all love. There’s nothing like hearing two lyrical rappers go bar for bar on a track.
Kanye gives us another new trending term, “turbo Thots.” Hip-hop has been the leader in creating new slang words. Now Kanye has given us a “spin-off” of the term THOT. I can’t wait to see how this term is used throughout the season.
This is the Kanye we love. He even says on this track “I know some fans who thought I wouldn’t rap like this again, but the writer’s block is over, emcees cancel your plans.” I’ve been a fan of Kanye since 2004, when he gave us The College Dropout. And although he gave us a different sound for a few of his albums, I believe it’s what we needed for us to appreciate not only the “old Kanye” but to appreciate real hip-hop and rap again.
The samples are perfect. The sounds from Junie Morrison’s “Suzie Thundertussy” throughout the track are sped up from the original track but, like Junie said himself, it doesn’t change how great the song is, it just enhances the music in my opinion. At the end of the song we hear Larry Graham singing “I just keep on lovin’ you baby, and there’s no one else I know who can take your place” from “Stand Up and Shout About Love.” This is exactly how we feel about Kanye West, no matter what he gives us to talk about, complain about or even shake our head at, we just can’t stop loving him. And after we hear his new album, SWISH, I’m sure we will believe that no can take his place.

Let’s brace ourselves for February, because if Kanye is dropping singles like this, SWISH is going to be everything we’ve been waiting for. I’m expecting nothing less than red carpet, Grammy Material.
