Newly released comedic web series I Love Lucy and Bekka focuses on two best friends who “are so close that they finish each other’s sandwiches.” Created by writer Rachael Holder, the series features Kristolyn Lloyd as Lucy and Gina Rodriguez as Bekka. (You might recognize Rodriguez from her lead role on Jane the Virgin, a highly acclaimed television show on The CW, which earned her a Golden Globe.)

This web series is great, not only because it features two women of color, but also because these women clearly value and love each other, a storyline not often captured in mainstream entertainment. Lucy and Bekka are hysterical, brutally honest, and silly — all of the best features of a friendship.
