Big Sean’s 501(c)3 organization, the Sean Anderson Foundation, has made a donation of $25,000 to Wayne State University’s HIGH (Helping Individuals Go Higher) program to establish an endowment. According to the foundation’s website, the endowment will “provide short-term support to Wayne State students experiencing homelessness or precarious housing situations.”

Wayne State University’s HIGH program was established in 2013 to help end student homelessness among college students. The program’s founder, Jacqueline Wilson, was moved to create HIGH when she met a student who’d experienced homelessness while pursuing their degree at Wayne State.

In an interview about the donation, Wilson touched upon how the missions of both organizations align.

“The Sean Anderson Foundation’s investment in the HIGH Program shows their commitment to assisting those in need,” said Wilson. “With this gift, we will be able to help Wayne State students who are experiencing homelessness work toward a brighter future.”

The Sean Anderson Foundation is Big Sean’s commitment to making the lives of young people better. His mother, Myra Anderson, is the president of the foundation and spoke to how they hope to improve students’ lives:

“We see the HIGH Program as an important component of ensuring success at Wayne State, and we are proud to help strengthen its mission,” she said in a statement. “We aim to boost graduation rates at the university by providing support to students facing hardship.”
