Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin is hot on the press trail for his feature directorial debut, Molly’s Game, which stars Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba.

His latest stop is serving as the cover star for the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter.

In the mag, he dished on a lot, including who he would like to see front a reboot of The West Wing. Sorkin says he has a “standing offer” for a reboot of the show at NBC, and he is envisioning Sterling Brown as its star.

When asked if he would introduce Trump-like figure for a reboot, he debunked that thought and introduced this one instead.

“Sterling K. Brown as the president, and there’s some kind of jam, an emergency, a very delicate situation involving the threat of war or something, and (President) Bartlet (played by Martin Sheen), long since retired, is consulted in the way that Bill Clinton used to consult with Nixon.”

In response to the interview, Brown says he’s down as well!

While nothing is set in stone for sure, a reboot of the long-running political drama, which starred Martin Sheen, Rob Lowe, John Spencer, Allison Janney, Dulé Hill and Moira Kelly and aired from 1999-2006, has been talked about for a while and has been requested by NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt.
