He later apologized to those who criticized his comments.

“I would like to apologize to anybody that’s offended by my words,” he said, TMZ reports.

“I am from the Bay Area, I come up in the Bay, and you know, the whole racial thing to me has never been a factor in my circle,” he added.

“I love my Blackness, I love my family — on my mother’s side and my father’s side. We have every complexion: light, curly, dark, everything. You can’t have blood in your body that makes you better than someone else. You can’t be born of better parents or better breeding — it’s no such thing. Real beauty is in every economic class, every race, and you can go find that ugly exactly everywhere too,” he said.

Despite Short’s views on relationships and women, he said he had to find “balance” during Wednesday’s interview.

“Something that I always did — and you can talk to the women that know me — I will get on that stage and in that studio and talk a lot of s**t. Then I’ll get off the stage and I’ll be a gentleman,” he said. “And even though it’s 100% player status, I’m still running it from a gentleman’s aspect. So when you leave the room, they don’t go, ‘Oh, that n***a came in disrespectful.’ It’s like, ‘Damn, I thought he was going to be rude.’ It’s a balance in there.”
