Hosts of the Big Facts podcast, Big Bank, DJ Scream and Baby Jade, welcomed Too Short to the show on Wednesday. During the conversation, Too Short shared his insight on the late controversial YouTuber Kevin Samuels, who espoused polarizing views on dating and relationships, primarily targeting women.

“I don’t know the whole journey,” the rapper admitted. “All I know is the recent clickbait. I can’t get to the gist of where it came from and what it was. I don’t know. It sounded like some pimping but then it sounded real anti-female. I don’t know … it sounded hateful.”

He went on to say, “The last thing you want to do to get a ho to ho for you is be super hateful … you gotta finesse it,” seemingly contradicting his previous statement of Samuels being anti-women by providing a misogynistic take on the YouTuber’s approach.

Short, whose real name is Todd Anthony Shaw, has endured his fair amount of backlash when dealing with women. He posted a since-deleted video to XXL’s platform doling out “fatherly advice” to young boys on how to use sex and manipulation on pre-teen girls to “turn little girls out,” MadameNoire reports.

“When you get to late middle school, early high school and you start feeling a certain way about the girls … I’m gonna tell you a couple tricks. This is what you do, man. A lot of the boys are going to be running around trying to get kisses from the girls, we’re going way past that. I’m taking you to the hole,” he said, according to Madame Noire.

He continued in more graphic detail, encouraging young boys to push young girls against the wall to coerce sexual contact with them.

In another interview from 2021 with fellow Bay Area rapper Saweetie, Short provided another example of his toxic masculinity by commenting on interracial couples and biracial children.

“Mixed heritage women have always been my favorite,” he said, according to Vibe. “I don’t think I’ve ever fallen in love with a woman that wasn’t mixed. And the Bay did that to me.”

“I feel that way about life, too,” he added. “Like biracial babies are … You can take the two ugliest motherf**kin’ from different races and they’d f**k and make a baby and that baby would just be beautiful. It happens all the time … but it’s true. You’ll be like, ‘I know y’all didn’t make that baby!’ You can see it.”

He later apologized to those who criticized his comments.

“I would like to apologize to anybody that’s offended by my words,” he said, TMZ reports.

“I am from the Bay Area, I come up in the Bay, and you know, the whole racial thing to me has never been a factor in my circle,” he added.

“I love my Blackness, I love my family — on my mother’s side and my father’s side. We have every complexion: light, curly, dark, everything. You can’t have blood in your body that makes you better than someone else. You can’t be born of better parents or better breeding — it’s no such thing. Real beauty is in every economic class, every race, and you can go find that ugly exactly everywhere too,” he said.

Despite Short’s views on relationships and women, he said he had to find “balance” during Wednesday’s interview.

“Something that I always did — and you can talk to the women that know me — I will get on that stage and in that studio and talk a lot of s**t. Then I’ll get off the stage and I’ll be a gentleman,” he said. “And even though it’s 100% player status, I’m still running it from a gentleman’s aspect. So when you leave the room, they don’t go, ‘Oh, that n***a came in disrespectful.’ It’s like, ‘Damn, I thought he was going to be rude.’ It’s a balance in there.”
