The Hollywood Reporter just announced that Quentin Tarantino will be given the Hollywood Screenwriter Award at the 16th annual Hollywood Film Award for his script for Django Unchained.
The Hollywood Film Awards kicks off award the Award Season. The Awards "recognizes excellence in the established Hollywood community by bestowing awards to both in front and behind the camera talent. In the last 9 years, a total of 85 Oscar nominations and 32 Oscars were given to films showcased and/or to the honorees of the Hollywood Awards"
Previous recipients of the award include: Akiva Goldsman (2005), Eric Roth (2006), John Patrick Shanley (2008), and Aaron Sorkin (2010).

Despite our thoughts it seems Mr. Tarantino's Django Unchained is off to the races as they say.
The Award will be given out October 22nd at the Beverly Hilton.
Django Unchained opens in theaters Christmas Day, December 25th.
