A 19-year-old offered to lend out her prom dress to a girl in need so that she could have a prom night to remember.

Glen Burnie, Maryland, resident Mika Riddick took to Twitter to reminisce about her 2016 prom night. She recalled how special she felt getting dolled up, having the best makeup and wearing a dress made for a princess. Then, she had an idea: why not give that feeling to other girls?

In a March 13 tweet, Mika offered to loan out of her dress to any girl in need living in Glen Burnie. And she even sweetens the deal by connecting the lucky girl with a makeup artist she knew.

The response was incredible. Thousands of users liked and shared the tweet inspiring others to lend out their prom dresses and suits to those who may not be able to purchase their own.

User @JoushuaTodd offered to lend out some of his old suits.

@AiyanaNakia was willing to give away a dress to anyone who needed.

"I offered my prom dress because why not? I know so many young women are going through financial instabilities," she told BuzzFeed News in a recent interview.

"They’re paying a thousand college fees or maybe working overtime to give their paychecks to their families. These are all the things I’ve witnessed young women go through while I was in school. Or, honestly, there are just girls who are struggling to find a dress."

By the next day, a girl took up Mika's offer and booked the dress for April 28.

Mika's kindness really shows the power of sisterhood and that there is some good in the world.
