The woman who went viral as Gorilla Glue Girl says Nicki Minaj is an exception for using the term in a shoutout on new track.

Tessica Brown said although she’s typically offended when others associate her with the term, she is giving the rapper a pass for the lyrics in “Fractions,” TMZ reported.

Brown confirmed TMZ’s reporting with a post to her Instagram of their story, a move that showed she had nothing but love for Minaj.

In response, Brown said the shoutout was “cute” and that she was ultimately flattered when the Trinidadian-born rapper put her in the song. One day she said she hopes to meet Minaj in-person.

According to TMZ, Minaj did not get permission from Brown prior to using the term.

In the song, the Trinidadian-born rapper says, “Head game slicker than little miss Gorilla Glue," an undeniable reference to Brown and her hair that got perfectly slicked down from the glue mishap.

In February 2021, Brown quickly went viral on social media after a video surfaced of her showing immovable hair strands after she putting Gorilla Glue, a household item, in her hair as Blavity previously reported. She said she used the product as a substitute when she ran out of hair gel. In the video, she presses down on her hair and to her disbelief, it won’t budge.

“Look, my hair, it don’t move. You hear what I’m telling you? It don’t move,” Brown said in the video.

Brown became the meme of the day for February as her video continued to be rewatched and shared, reaching more than a million views.

Fortunately for her, Brown got the help of a surgeon based in Los Angeles who was able to fully remove the glue from her hair, pro-bono, according to Complex.

Since the traumatic incident, Brown said she's been working on managing her mental health.

According to Complex, Nicki Minaj is still working on her next full album. She plans to release the new music later this year.

“Fractions,” the new song featured on Minaj’s surprise new mixtape cut, Beam Me Up Scotty, was released Friday on all streaming platforms for the first time, Icecream Convos reported. On Thursday, Miniaj announced she would release the work during an Instagram Live.

The original was released back in 2009 as the rapper’s third mixtape. Stans of the Queen of the Barbz have already reacted in nostalgia for being taken back to the rapper’s earlier times.
