For so long, Idris Elba has been linked with James Bond as the fans’ choice for Daniel Craig’s replacement. Funnily enough, Elba played with fans’ speculation at the Golden Globes, where he was a presenter.

Elba’s picture feature himself and Craig looking suspiciously at each other, both of them being in on the joke. On the image, Elba wrote, “Awks.” The picture was posted to Elba’s Instagram and Twitter, where it quickly became viral on the internet with people once again imagining what it would be like if Elba became Agent 007.
Fingers crossed that’s a clue Mr Elba pic.twitter.com/domlmao7AI

I haven’t been to watch a James Bond at the cinema for years and years. But if Idris Elba is the next Bond, I’ll go twice ????

But, as already stated, Elba isn’t up for the role any time soon. As he said in 2018, during the promotional tour of his directorial debut Yardie, Elba said he wouldn’t play Bond in the future. Quite pointedly, in response to the question about any possibility of taking on the role, Elba said, “No.”
However, Elba did play the role of proud parent at the Golden Globes. Aside from presenting, he also introduced his daughter Isan as this year’s Golden Globe Ambassador.
