Since Meek Mill received 2-4 years in jail for a parole violation last November, many have stood up to support him and to demand justice. Things got especially heated in recent weeks after controversial Judge Genece Brinkley refused to reconsider Mill's prison sentence.
Meek released a music video this week highlighting the support he has received as he waits a verdict concerning his release. According to the Washington Post, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft (who did not appear in the video), visited the rapper at the Pennsylvania state prison this week.
What makes Kraft's visit particularly curious is the fact he's a good friend of none other than President Donald Trump, Mass Live reports.
Despite being team Trump, Kraft broke ranks with the president during discussions about the #TakeAKnee protests (which the president very loudly criticized), acting as a mediator between NFL players and owners.
Kraft was joined in his prison visit by Michael Rubin, e-commerce billionaire and co-owner of the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils. Rubin was notably expected to loop Diddy into his plans to purchase the Carolina Panthers, but those plans fell apart when Rubin dropped out of bidding for the team.
“I know some of our players in the NFL have talked about this, and I see firsthand that it’s just wrong,” Kraft told reporters following his visit.
“This has been a situation where it started with a wrongful conviction, and then it ended up with a really bad judge, where everything that could go wrong has gone wrong,” said Rubin, according to NBC Philadelphia.

“Amazing young man. I know how I’d feel if I was in the situation he is,” the 76-year-old Kraft said of Mill. “Every time I see him, I just come away more impressed. He’s very intelligent. And makes it clear to me we have to do something with criminal justice reform.”
