Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s family wrestling legacy lives on as his daughter, Simone Johnson made her professional debut in Orlando’s first showing as a fourth-generation professional wrestler.

Simone’s fraternal side has the professional wrestler gene, with her father, grandfather and great-grandfather being WWE Hall of Famers.

Simone’s initially deemed herself with the stage name Ava Raine.

At the NXT live event at the Englewood Neighborhood Center in Orlando, FL, on July 9, she had her first promo run, calling herself “The Final Girl,” a possible nickname on top of her already primary stage name, while getting the crowd revved up during the show.

Simone brought immense energy to the ring when she claimed to be better than her competitors while shading current NXT 2.0 star Cora Jade and her skateboard tricks.

Jay Reddick from the Orlando Sentinel was impressed with the wrestler’s performance which he deemed “well-delivered, with no awkwardness or botched lines.” 

Her great grandfather, Peter Maivia, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008, known as the “High Chief” Peter Maivia. Her grandfather’s stage name was the “Soul Man” Rocky Johnson, who was also inducted into the hall of fame.

Her father is one of the most prominent wrestlers in WWE history and actors in Hollywood.

The Rock is the first third-generation Superstar in WWE history, winning eight WWE Championships during his wrestling career.

In 1983, “Soul Man” and “Mr. USA,” also known as Tony Atlas, became the first Black champions in WWE history to win the World Tag Team Championship.

 

Johnson has been signed to WWE since February 2020, with a solid fan base despite some fans disliking her opting out of using her family’s wrestling name, Johnson.
