The Sex Lives of College Girls is losing one of its series regulars.

Reneé Rapp will not be back as a series regular. Variety first broke the news.

The actress who plays the role of Leighton, will make a few appearances in Season 3 before leaving the Max comedy.

In December, The Sex Lives of College Girls received a Season 3 renewal. The show centers on four housemates at the fictitious Essex College as they balance friendships, sexuality, and academics. Season 2 ended with Leighton finally finding her footing after coming out to her father, telling him she was a lesbian, and leaving her sorority.

The series also stars Pauline Chalamet as Kimberly, Amrit Kaur as Bela, and Alyah Chanelle Scott as Whitney.

The show was created by Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble.

While this may be a shocker, it is not surprising as Rapp has a blossoming singing career in addition will surprise her Broadway role of Regina George in the forthcoming Mean Girls musical film.

Her debut EP, Everything to Everyone, was released in November after she signed with Interscope Records the previous year. Snow Angel, her debut album, will be released on August 18.
