The Weeknd looks like a totally different person, and some are having trouble processing.
The singer, who recently split from his former girlfriend and supermodel Bella Hadid, was in Toronto for the premiere of Uncut Gems and was unrecognizable, reports Popsugar. His afro has grown out a bit, and he removed most of his facial hair, with the exception of his mustache. The Monday appearance marked his first red carpet moment since the break-up.
Many were shook by his new look and couldn't help but to wonder if his stage name was no longer fitting.

The Weeknd drew similar reactions when he cut off his famous freeform locs a few years ago. His first makeover was a new source of freedom at the time, according to NME.
“The vision wasn’t there anymore,” he recounted to Zane Lowe on Beats 1 in 2016. “It was there and then just like the music, it was getting really sad. It was the greatest feeling of all time [cutting it off]. It was so good. I could sleep better, I felt lighter, and when I perform, I perform better and feel better, it’s cool. The best part about all of it, I get to wear fucking hats again. Wear a fucking cap and walk into a restaurant and nobody knows it’s you, It’s the greatest feeling.”
He also released his album Starboy around the time of his last haircut, so perhaps we’ll get some new music too.
