(T)ERRORAfter a successful Kickstarter campaign earlier this month, that raised $61,695 to support the film’s theatrical release, the 2015 award-winning feature documentary "(T)ERROR )" from directors Lyric R. Cabral and David Felix Sutcliffe, now has an official commercial premiere date set for Wednesday, October 7, at IFC Center in New York.

The first film to document on camera a covert counterterrorism sting as it unfolds, via the perspective of a 63-year-old Black revolutionary turned FBI informant, the film made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January of this year, where it won a Special Jury Prize for Break Out First Feature. It was also awarded the Grand Jury Prize at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival.

As the filmmakers state: "Although ‘(T)ERROR’ is completed, and has screened at festivals around the world – including the Tribeca Film Festival, the Human Rights Watch Film Festival, and the Hot Docs International Film Festival – the future of the film is now in jeopardy. Because of the unprecedented nature of our reporting, ‘(T)ERROR’ faces serious legal expenses and insurance costs, which will prevent us from releasing the film. We have big plans for ‘(T)ERROR’: if we make our funding goal, we will be able to launch a national theatrical release of the film in October 2015. Your contribution will directly support our existing legal expenses, as well as the costs of an insurance policy, which will protect us and our partners from any legal repercussions throughout the film’s release."

Following its NYC run, the film will gradually roll out nationwide, with openings set for Detroit, Peoria, Houston, Seattle, Los Angeles and other markets to be announced. Obviously the better it performs in each market, the stronger its chances of expanding even wider.
