A 17-year-old girl in Dallas, Texas, was the victim of a cyber-bullying incident involving an appalling tweet posted by another Twitter user. Ameera Peterson, who has Down syndrome, learned someone used her yearbook photo in an upsetting way.

In an interview with Dallas CW33, Peterson revealed she noticed Twitter user "Meera" @69boosie used her yearbook photo to joke that she had "…the BEST glo up in the century," the tweet read in part. Peterson told CW33 the tweet made her "angry."

"Kids with special needs and disabilities, they have feelings and emotions just like everyone else," Peterson's mom, Rita, told CW33.

According to a screenshot captured by CW33, the now-deleted tweet, which @69boosie posted on Thursday, June 7, garnered more than 15.6K retweets and 57K likes. The Twitter user who posted the tweet appeared to stand by her cyber-bullying. In one post, she even taunted other Twitter users to beat her up, seemingly in response to the backlash against her tweet featuring Peterson.

But Peterson, who loves to dress up, dance and rap, is one strong young lady. She told CW33 she wrote a song about the tweet to express her emotions.

We have your back, Ameera!
