A video of 2-year-old Mila Peacock reacting to seeing a hair bonnet that looks like hers on TV has been going viral, Good Morning America reports. Her mom Michaela Peacock told the outlet that the adorable toddler had been refusing to wear a bonnet at night to protect her hair.

After seeing an episode of Rise Up, Sing Out, an animated, musical sketch show on Disney+ focused on race and culture, Michaela said she decided to show it to Mila before bedtime.

The episode, called “Super Bonnet,” did the trick. Mila started wearing her bonnet through the night. According to ABC News, Michaela wanted to share a video of her daughter watching the episode to hopefully help other parents.

“It really did help us, so I genuinely was like I know this is going to help other people,” Michaela told GMA. “Especially when you’re spending two, three hours doing braids and doing your little girl’s hair, you want it to stay intact. It’s really important that they have that on at night.”

In the video first posted to TikTok, and then shared across platforms, Mila’s eyes are glued to the screen and says “bonnet” as she is seen wearing hers.

Michaela said it was “really beautiful” to watch her daughter make that connection.

“It’s not something that I had as a child, nor did my mother or generations before, it’s hard to even put into words,” she said. “It’s really beautiful to be able to watch her look at herself on screen — not just in that episode but in the entire series — it’s huge.”

Nia Madison Thompson, who voices the episode’s main character, Taniya, saw the video and decided to join Mila on Instagram for a sing-a-long of the “Super Bonnet” song.

“If you can see it, you can be it!” Thompson captioned the post of her duet with Mila. “This is one of key reasons why I am an actor, singer and activist!”
