As soon as Beyoncé and JAY-Z broke the internet with their "Apes**t,”, the visuals had folks scrambling to analyze the message behind the music video. With the Knowles-Carters, nothing is ever done "just because." There is always an intricate meaning behind their artful marketing machine. Always.

The black takeover of The Louvre certainly caught the eye of the online community, and in particular, a shot of Bey and Jay's in front of the Mona Lisa couldn't be ignored.

So, what could be their motivation? Why the Mona Lisa?

Some wondered whether or not Solange influenced the music video, as several of the frames looked straight out of A Seat at the Table's visual experience.

In her famous Interview Magazine sit-down with her sis Bey pubbed in January 2017, Solange spoke about her iconic album cover, and during the course of their discussion, confirmed the Mona Lisa was indeed, her muse.

"I wanted to nod to the Mona Lisa and the stateliness, the sternness that that image has," Solange had said. "And I wanted to put these waves in my hair, and to really set the waves, you have to put these clips in. And when Neal, the hair stylist, put the clips in, I remember thinking, Woah, this is the transition, in the same way that I'm speaking about on ‘Cranes.'"

That very image became so popular, everyone and their mama recreated it for Halloween, memes and beyond.

"It was really important to capture that transition, to show the vulnerability and the imperfection of the transition — those clips signify just that, you know? Holding it down until you can get to the other side. I wanted to capture that," she continued.

While it's not clear who inspired who to reclaim the meaning behind the Mona Lisa, we do know that both sisters used the popular painting as a way to advance black beauty and we're here for it.

We stan a talented sisterly duo who constantly inspire each other!
