A TikTok user is getting praise after she run into Amanda Bynes on the street over the weekend and comforted the former child star before she was placed on a psychiatric hold days later.
In the video @kaitlynhotfox posted on Friday, the pair can be seen walking down the streets of Hollywood.
Kaitlyn, who was allowing Bynes to hold her arm while walking together, said “saw my girl walking so I had to say what’s up.”
On Sunday, Bynes was found naked and alone in the streets of downtown Los Angeles, TMZ reported. The Hollywood star was then placed on a 5150 psych hold.
Meanwhile, Kaitlyn’s video garnered more attention after the news about Bynes. The clip went viral as people commended Kaitlyn for supporting Bynes in her time of need.
“She felt safe with you,” one person said.
Many more people followed up with similar comments.

Though the video got praise, it also had people who thought that this should not have been a moment for social media.

Another person said, “can’t believe someone posted a tiktok with amanda bynes when she clearly looked out of it, people are so gross.”
A witness who spoke with TMZ said Bynes waved a car down on Sunday and told the driver she was coming down from a psychotic episode. The TV star then called 911 for herself.
