After a TikToker discovered that Dr. Seuss’s books sound a lot like today’s rap music, she and her videos quickly went viral.

VanityKirk, a TikToker with over 30K followers, shared the first video reading from Dr. Seuss’ “Fox in Socks” book.

“Y’all not Dr. Seuss coming out with bangers,” the TikToker said. “That man said, ‘Chicks with bricks come. Chicks with blocks come. Chicks with bricks and blocks and clocks come. Look, sir. Look, sir. Mr. Knox, sir. Let’s do tricks with bricks and blocks, sir. Let’s do tricks with chicks and clocks, sir.'”

Reciting more lines from the book, she continued reading.

“He said, ‘Look’ — and he’s slanging, ‘First, I’ll make a quick trick brick stack. Then I’ll make a quick trick block stack. You can make a quick chick trick stack. You can make a quick trick clock stack,'” she said. “He said however you wanna do it; we can do it. However you want to get it done, we can get it done.”

The video garnered over 9M views and 2.6M likes, with comments requesting other Dr. Seuss books for the TikToker to rap to.

VanityKirk shared several more videos of herself rapping to the children’s author’s books, including “Green Eggs and Ham,” “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish,” and additional reading of “Fox in Socks.”

“Picture this: you’re minding your own business, and then some man just tries to come up and try to feed you green eggs and ham,” she said. “And then he got these dudes with him trying to run a train. ‘A train. A train. Could you would you on a train. Not on a train. Not in a tree. Not in a car. Sam. Let me be. I would not, could not in a box. I would not, could not with a fox. I will not eat them with a mouse. I will not eat them in a house. I will not eat them here or there. I will not eat them anywhere. I do not eat green eggs and ham. I do not like them, Sam-I-Am.'”

In one of her TikTok videos, the creator received a nod of approval for her rapping skills from rap legend LL Cool J. The rapper commented that he was “feeling” the TikToker’s rapping skills, which drew the expected response.

“Everybody shut the f*ck up talking to me because — because, shut up. Shut up. Am I doing it and doing it well, or Nah,” she said. “Am I doing it and doing it well, or Nah? Because who commented? Baby, I am going back to Cali. I’m going back to Cali.”

VanityKirk’s Dr. Seuss TikTok videos have accumulated over 10 million views.
