Writer/director Tina Gordon Chism and producer/LAFF festival director Stephanie Allain have reteamed for a thriller titled Inheritance, which they’ve sold to Sony Pictures, in a deal that, according to Deadline, involved DeVon Franklin and Alex Siskin.

The story centers on a young female lawyer handling the case of a New Orleans coffee magnate whose death ignites a chain of deadly events.

Chism and Allain previously paired up for Peeples – Chism’s directorial debut, which stars Craig RobinsonDavid Alan GrierKerry WashingtonS. Epatha Merkerson, Melvin Van PeeblesDiahann Carroll, and Kali Hawk, and which Lionsgate will release on May 10, 2013.

Chism’s previous credits include penning the screenplays for Drumline and ATL. She was also previously attached to Halle Berry’s Nappily Ever After project, which is currently in limbo.

Siskin, Todd Black and Jason Blumenthal for Escape Artists, will produce Inheritance.

Hopefully this will mean even more photos of Chism in circulation, because there aren’t many of her solo. There aren’t many at all actually.
