A little late on this… The Emmys air tonight at 8PM EST on Fox. Who’ll be watching?
Nominee highlights for us: Idris Elba in the Lead Actor in a Mini-Series or movie category, for his performance in Luther; Laurence Fishburne, in the same category, for his performance in Thurgood; Taraji P. Henson (which was a surprise – a good one, but still a surprise) in the Lead Actress in a Mini-Series or movie category, for her performance in Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story; Andre Braugher in the Supporting Actor in a Drama category, for his performance in Men of a Certain Age;
Stanley Nelson’s gripping 2-hour documentary Freedom Riders was nominated in, and has already been awarded in three categories – Outstanding Picture Editing For Nonfiction Programming, Exceptional Merit In Nonfiction Filmmaking, and Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming.
The full list of nominees below; the ceremony for the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards, will air September 18th on Fox.
