Tribeca has announced key dates and a call for submissions for the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival, with the big news being that they are launching a new program that showcases work of "transmedia artists."
Transmedia artists essentially are artists (in this case filmmakers) who use multiple platforms and formats to tell their stories.
In transmedia, elements of a story are dispersed systematically across multiple media platforms, each making their own unique contribution to the whole. Each medium does what it does best–comics might provide back-story, games might allow you to explore the world, and the television series offers unfolding episodes.
The Tribeca Film Festival revealed that the 12th Annual Tribeca Film Festival will be held April 17 – 28, 2013.
Dates for call for submissions for narrative and documentary features, and short film entries follow below:

November 30, 2012 Official deadline for all features, shorts and transmedia projects
