Trevor Noah, South African-born comedian and host of The Daily Show, launched a foundation to help the most vulnerable children in South Africa last week.

The Trevor Noah Foundation is a non-profit organization which provides orphaned children with education opportunities and social capital to help them pursue career opportunities after high school. The foundation partners with government schools to "drive sustainable change that improves the lives of the most vulnerable youth in South Africa," its website states.

The foundation centers its efforts on three priority areas: psycho-social support, skills development and career guidance.

Noah shared establishing the foundation has been a "dream" of his in a Friday Twitter post.

"Thank you to the New Nation school and all who attended the launch of the Trevor Noah Foundation," he wrote. "My dream for many years has been to help underprivileged children get the education they deserve and with this initiative we're taking the first steps."
