Going number one in the NFL Draft seemed not to matter to President Donald Trump.
Former University of Oklahoma quarterback and 2018 Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray was picked first in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals, April 25. The momentous occasion capped off a record-setting year of the two-sport student-athlete.
He made history being the first person to be drafted in the top 10 of both the MLB and NFL drafts. Murray, who is 21, was drafted by the Oakland Athletics as well. However, the huge achievement was overlooked by Trump. In a tweet posted April 27, Trump congratulated the number two player chosen in the NFL Draft, Nick Bosa from Ohio State.
“Congratulations to Nick Bosa on being picked number two in the NFL Draft,” Trump tweeted. “You will be a great player for years to come, maybe one of the best. Big Talent! San Francisco will embrace you but most importantly, always stay true to yourself. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Bosa was one of the top defensive ends coming out of college. The San Francisco 49ers picked him despite controversy regarding his social media activities.

On Instagram, Bosa reportedly liked numerous posts featuring racist and homophobic slurs. There was reportedly a few now-deleted tweets calling former President Ronald Regan and Trump "G.O.A.T.S." Vox reports there were some instances where he criticized Beyoncé and former 49ers player Colin Kaepernick.
Hmmmm, I wonder why Trump likes this Nick Bosa guy so much…

Since 2016, the 49ers were at the center of Kaepernick's protest against police brutality. His former team parted ways with him and he was effectively blackballed from the NFL. Now, Bosa is the team's highest draft pick. Critics call the move a slight against Kaep's legacy of civil rights activism and his stellar play for the team.
According to NFL.com, the 21-year-old reportedly changed his social media habits and apologized to fans.
“I’m sorry if I hurt anybody,” Bosa said. “I definitely didn’t intend for that to be the case. I think me being [in San Francisco] is even better for me as a person because I don’t think there’s anywhere, any city, that you could really be in that would help you grow as much as this one will. I’m going to be surrounded with people of all different kinds, so I’m going to grow as a person. I’m going to be on my own. I’m going to grow up, I’m gonna learn a lot of new things. It’s exciting.”
