As St. Patrick’s Day quickly approaches, most of us are gearing up for, arguably the best part of this Irish holiday — the booze. This worldwide holiday, commemorating the life of Saint Patrick, is not only a time to indulge in copious amounts of alcohol consumption but is also an opportunity to support Black-owned alcohol brands. From delectable wine to zesty vodka, it would behoove us to support our brothers and sisters who work so hard to provide quality alcohol.

Here’s a list of six alcohol brands that we can’t wait to try.

1. McBride Sisters Wine Company

Black women can do anything, including owning the largest Black-owned wine company in the United States. Such is the case for the McBride sisters, Robin and Andréa, whose McBride Sisters Wine Company has been one of the greatest wine brands to hit the market in 2005.

2. Earl Stevens

Earl Stevens Sr., aka E-40, is a rapper, songwriter and as most of us have learned recently, a wine connoisseur. Stevens is so much of a connoisseur that he has a super successful wine company named after himself.

3. Hux Spirits

The DMV is known for many things, including an abundance of crab-based dishes and now we can add alcohol to the list. If you’re looking for some crisp, tasty sangria-flavored drinks, look no further than Hux Spirits.

4. Uncle Nearest

For those who prefer whiskey as their drink of choice, Uncle Nearest has you covered. The premium whiskey brand, inspired by Nearest Green, the first Black master distiller in America, is sure to excite your taste buds and your penchant for history.

5. Black Momma

The beauty about real-life Black mommas is the diversity — each one is uniquely different. The same can be said about this popular vodka brand with flavors ranging from green tea to chai tea.
